The Agent introduces deployment to McCabe’s popular line of innovative software configuration management solutions, responding to the challenge of enterprise staging and release. McCabe, the first company to develop native TCP/IP SCM, has expanded that protocol beyond the client - exporting change to every platform in the global enterprise.
“The Agent provides the facility for global, secure, robust, and flexible release management processes,” says Frank Ryan, VP of Change Control at Citigroup.
The Agent introduces the concept of Universal Release Management (URM), allowing modifications to be built, tested, deployed, and installed anywhere in the enterprise at any time. Deployment of all managed files can be full or incremental; scheduled or immediate. Deployment definition screens allow the user to select the changes to be deployed as well as their targets and deployment scripts. The Agent manages change transfers and executes all deployment actions, and supports secure multiple deployments to multiple target locations.
The Agent supports process enforcement and regulatory compliance with audit trails and separation of duties, via role-based security. The Agent takes full advantage of the power of TRUEchange, providing the technology to roll out and to roll back deployments with full auditability. McCabe CM, well-known for its unique approach to parallel development, is now enabling the performance, scalability, and reliability of the mainframe to be applied to enterprise-wide configuration management. The change-based approach and selective migration capabilities, available only with McCabe CM, save development groups weeks with every release.
